The aim of the fourth international scientific convention of the series “Slavdom past and present – language, literature, culture” is to exchange views concerning the contemporary Slavic languages, literature and cultural borderlands.
We propose the following areas of reflection:
– Contemporary theories and research methodologies and their application
– Evolution of onomastics research
– Phraseology vs the Linguistic Picture of the World
– Comparative studies: an interdisciplinary research area
– Linguistic policy and the media
– Corpus research
– Translators in the contemporary world – their tasks and dilemmas
– Drama – is it still a universal medium?
– Cinema in the borderland
– Myths and stereotypes in language, literature and culture
– Intertextuality in literature, culture and language
– Literature of linguistic borderlands
– Mutual reception of Slavic literatures
– Correspondence between the arts.
Please feel free to suggest the topics for your papers.
Conference languages are all Slavic languages, English and German.
Planned duration of paper presentation: 15-20 minutes. A conference fee is planned in the amount of PLN 450 (EUR 110) for research workers and PLN 400 (EUR 95) for doctoral students, including conference materials, coffee breaks, lunch, an evening reception, and the publication of a monograph.
Conference participants will also be able to benefit from a cultural program in the form of a visit to the National Museum in Wrocław.
