The aim of the sixth international scientific convention of the series “Slavdom past and present – language, literature, culture” is to exchange views concerning the contemporary Slavic languages, literature and cultural borderlands.

We propose the following areas of reflection:

– Contemporary theories and research methodologies and their application
– Evolution research in the field of onomastics
– Phraseology vs the Linguistic Picture of the World
– Comparative studies: an interdisciplinary research area
– Linguistic policy and the media
– Corpus research
– Glottodidactics
– Translators in the contemporary world – their tasks and dilemmas
– Drama – is it still a universal medium?
– „Kino na granicy/ Cinema on the Border
– Myths and stereotypes in language, literature and culture
– Intertextuality in literature, culture and language
– Literature of linguistic borderlands
– Mutual reception of Slavic literatures
– Correspondence between the arts.

Please feel free to suggest the topics for your papers.

Conference languages are all Slavic languages, English and German.

Planned duration of paper presentation: 15-20 minutes. A conference fee is PLN 500 (EUR 115) for research workers and PLN 450 (EUR 100) for doctoral students; it includes conference materials, coffee breaks, lunch, an evening reception, and the publication of a monograph.

Conference participants will also have an opportunity to participate in the cultural program: a visit to the National Museum in Wrocław.

The notification of acceptance, alongside the bank account number to be used for conference fee payments will be provided on 9 January 2023.

The Organization Committee reserves the right to select the papers.

Deadline for the conference fee payment: 9 February 2023.

All organizational details will be provided in separate e-mail correspondence. All the information, the schedule and the conference program will be available on the website: slowianszczyzna.wordpress.com .

We would also like to inform you that our conference will result in publishing a scientific monograph.

Due to the unpredictability of the pandemic, the organizers reserve the right to change the conference mode to hybrid or online instead of it taking place on site. Should any changes to the existing plans occur, you will be notified in advance.

The organizers will not serve as intermediaries in accommodation booking.
